Positive: The apartment is spacious, with an excellent and very well-equipped kitchen. The beds were comfortable, and the location is unbeatable—Altstätten is a beautiful town, well connected to the region and close to Austria and Liechtenstein. The apartment was also very clean, which gave us peace of mind after seeing previous reviews.

Negative: The deposit system was unusual and uncomfortable, with money being held from the credit card weeks before arrival and days after departure. The bedrooms were poorly furnished, with only the basics (beds and open wardrobes), no extra pillows or blankets, and no air conditioning or fans—during a heatwave, this made sleeping very difficult. Only one TV in the living room with local channels. Access to the apartment was through narrow wooden stairs outside the unit, which creaked a lot. The host’s communication started friendly but later felt cold and unhelpful, even avoiding questions about waste disposal and recycling. Small details like having to buy government-certified trash bags and even toilet paper for the stay were inconvenient.

Summary: Spacious and clean apartment, great location but odd rules and limited comfort in summer.
